Elise E. Rawls is a dreamer who keeps her head in the clouds where imagination runs untamed and free, and her feet on the ground where she can make those dreams a reality in her writing. Her fantasy goals are becoming an epic swordsmaster, learning how to ride a wild dragon, mastering the art of drawing, painting, and to one day fluently speak Tolkien’s language of the Elves. Rawls lives off of iced coffee, good humor, games like Zelda, and is a Speculative Fiction author who dabbles in Epic Fantasy, YA, and Steampunk, with several Works In Progress.
Currently Editing: V. Chronicles, Book 1, an Epic Fantasy, Young Adult series set in a troubled world where a half-elf girl and her friends must face the dangers and an ancient legend reborn. But not all things are what they seem…

Background: E. Rawls grew up in a traveling lifestyle where “home” moved frequently to new places. It was difficult not staying in one spot for very long; however, experiencing other countries and cultures made the hardships worthwhile and gave her a broad view of the world, and it was this way of life that grew in her a special love for books. With each move friends were lost; the young her needed something consistent in life, something that wouldn’t disappear, and that thing became books. A whole other world was opened, a world that wouldn’t disappear when her family moved. A special place with characters she could revisit again and again.
As a toddler, she would run about making up fun stories and characters, silly and crazy things that only a child could think up. Her mother’s bedtime stories inspired her to create and dream all kinds of things as a child. When Rawls grew older and learned how to read she was soon reading thick novels, and renting out book after book. The first big series Rawls read, and which encouraged her to read and write in the fantasy genre, was The Lord of the Rings. She was hooked and became an avid reader and writer of fantasy. Narnia, the Redwall series, and yes even video games, continued her appreciation for complex imaginary worlds and peoples. And so her writing journey began.
This journey also grew her love for the Bible, as she read it for herself. God guided her every step of the way along this path called life. All the credit goes to Him, for without His help and encouragement she could do nothing.
From the magnificent fairy tale castles and cathedrals found across Europe, and mysterious tucked-away ruins in the mountains long forgotten by time, and the quiet, secluded spots around Medieval towns—all of the wonders of Italy and Europe that Rawls once traveled and lived in as a kid served to fuel her imagination and dream up new stories and legends of her own.
Her writing is heavily influenced by years spent growing up in Italy and traveling through European countries. Much of the scenery and descriptions she use reflect her experiences and the simple yet appealing lifestyle of everyday life there.
A dreamer and artist since I could first hold a pencil in my hand, it is God who makes me able.

Check out Behind the Book Scenes and Rambling Pettirosso for travels, funny rambles, art, legends, and pure fun!
Why pettirosso? Because rambling on in their twittering, whirling song is what pettirossos do best! This is one of my favorite birds from life in Italy. A tiny bird that can fit in the palm of your hand, with a song and attitude fit for a bird three-times it’s size! Always curious, rain or shine, hopping about and bringing a smile to any gloomy day, singing its little heart out.
–Look at that adorable shape? It’s like a cotton ball with too-big eyes. ♥
