Haiku for RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Challenge. This week’s words: Hope & Stay.
“Battle Against The Fae”
The Seal was fixed, dark
Fae fell back into their Realm,
Hope stayed for Ireland.
~
“Negotiation”
The dragon approached.
Rin’s sword stayed at the ready,
Hoping for a truce…

I love the first poem (and the second poem is great, too)! It tells a whole story in three short lines.

Thanks, Abbey! It’s fun to try writing a whole story in short lines.

I like the tension in the second poem. It’s like a frozen moment in time, just standing still in three lines. 🙂

Thanks, VP. And sorry for the late reply; offline life has been rough, but things are better now.

I am trying to catch up with things! Glad to hear you have. Or had.
I’m very late replying to this comment. 😦

That’s okay. I keep falling behind too; the life of a writer is a demanding one.

It is. I keep thinking I need to invent more hours in the day.

THAT FIRST ONE. So much story in so few words! Awesome writing! 😀

Glad you liked it, Madeline! It was tough fitting in a whole story with as few words as possible, but a fun challenge!

The first haiku reminded me of of Juliet Marillier’s Daughter of the Forest. Not in terms of writing style or what it’s about, but the mere mention of Fae and Ireland made me think of the Fair Folk from that novel’s fantastical version of Ireland. Have you read that book? I think you’d like it.

I haven’t read that book. But I do enjoy Fae and Ireland tales, so I’ll go look it up!
