This is dedicated to my good friend, Lisa, who passed away suddenly this week. She loved my poems, and would always ask me how my writing was going. She will be missed, until we meet again in heaven.
“A Light Has Gone”
Your candle burned bright
Bright through the darkness
So inviting, so warm
Welcoming the young and the old, the lost and the found
Into your home, into your heart
Bright with cheer, bright with encouragement
Bright with hope, bright with serving others
Bright with wonder, bright with compassion
Tireless, persevering, walking by faith in Christ,
There was nothing you wouldn’t do for others, even for strangers.
Your light touched the lives of many,
The world is dimmer now that you’ve gone
But heaven is brighter as your candle there shines forever more…

It has been a difficult season of loss for you it seems. But I’m so thankful your friend knew Christ. For to live is Christ, but to die is gain for her.
