Yes, you read that right. I am making the change!
But what change is that, you might be wondering? Well, those who have been following me here and on social media probably recognize this image I’ve been using for my profile:
But now, the time has come for a change!
If I’m going to be an author, then I need some photos that fit the part. And so, here is the new profile photo that you will be seeing around instead:
I think it came out decent enough, at least for now. I’ll have to get professional ones done in the future, but hopefully this is a step in the right direction. 🙂
How was your weekend?

Yay! We get to see your lovely face now. 🙂 Did it feel scary or intimidating at all to switch from your avatar to a real photo?

Thank you, Sara! 🙂 I sort of took the plunge without giving myself a chance to feel intimidated, haha. I think it’s also helping to prepare me for “author life” which can be quite public, what with book signings, author events, and such. 🙂 Now, actually talking to people in person about my books…well, that’s the next step I must learn. 😉
How was it for you when you first posted your photo?

I don’t remember, tbh. I’ve always had a picture of myself on my Facebook profile, so I was used to having people see what I looked like. So I didn’t think twice about it when I put a photo of me on the blog.

I was always fine with photos of myself on Facebook (since just friends saw them), but a blog I had to grow comfortable with. I think it’s great that you didn’t think twice about it. It’s one of those steps we must take to becoming authors. 🙂

Loving the photo. So nice to see your face. Which makes me think about mine. So many people have a real photo online now. But. Hmm. Glad you decided to make The Change! 🙂

Thank you, phoenixgrey! I made the change now, since I’m going to be publishing next year. Thought I would get a head start on it now. 😉 Maybe when the time comes for you to publish your stories, you might post your photo?

It’s always best to be prepared, as the saying goes. 🙂
Maybe I might. It’s something I’m thinking about, anyway. 🙂

Thank you, Tori! With how hot this summer has been, I’ve been enjoying shorter hair. 🙂

That’s a great photo! I also like that it’s a profile pic because it shows who you are and lends you a bit of privacy at the same time.

Thank you, Alina! I’ve seen other profile pics of authors, and the idea appealed to me, since it does still lend some privacy. 🙂

Glad that you decided to ditch the avatar for your real picture. I hope you’re happy and satisfied with the change. The journey of becoming an author helps us evolve in so many areas – emotional, psychological, physical, etc., doesn’t it?
Hope you’re having a great day!

Thank you, Heena! I am much more satisfied with the change now, though it does take some getting used to. Yes, it’s so true, this journey really has helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect. It’s helped me break out of that “introvert shell,” and talk about my stories and things I care about. Looking back even just last year, I’ve changed and learned so much, and I’m thankful for it.
Thank you for dropping by and commenting, Heena! I hope your July has been good so far.

Pleasure. I’m so happy for you, dear! I can totally relate because writing has helped me grow too in more or less the same ways it helped you 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend! ❤
