You can read about the fossil sizes of these animal giants at http://listverse.com/2013/04/26/10-terrifying-prehistoric-relatives-of-normal-animals/. The debates over how these animals grew so huge, or if they are different species entirely to what we have today, are endless. But one thing is for certain: they existed, and it is mind-boggling to imagine creatures of such size!

  1. The Terrible Crocodile photo reminds me of something I saw on the news earlier this week. Two hunters recently killed a 15-foot, 800-pound alligator in Florida because it was eating a nearby farm’s livestock. *gulp* Of course, that’s nothing compared to the Terrible Crocodile you featured here, but that’s still pretty big!!

  2. Scary creatures. But a fascinating idea of what the world was like when they inhabited it. I’d kind of like to travel back and take a peek, staying in a very safe bubble of course. 🙂

  3. This is . . . absolutely terrifying. But really cool! The idea of a shark bigger than the great white (of which there were a few) freaks the living daylights out of me. It wouldn’t stop me from swimming in the ocean or anything, I’m just saying . . . ;P
