Haikus: Height Difference & A Wish

My haikus for RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Challenge–a fun activity and contest that is open for everyone to participate, and helps keep our creative writer’s mind active! This week’s words are: Charm & Look.

“Height Difference”
The elf’s charm took her,
Santa’s helper looking fine,
But he stood knee-high…
~
“A Wish”
Her voice like a charm,
Wishing on a shooting star,
He watched while tears dried.

How to read a haiku as 2 separate sentences:
Her voice like a charm, Wishing on a shooting star,
Wishing on a shooting star, He watched while tears dried.

  1. I love the second one, so bittersweet. Such a beautiful image in my mind of the first half and the second coming together. And poor elf in the first one…. Still he’s Santa’s helper, so maybe he could make a Christmas wish for a little extra height. 🙂
