“You Better Watch Ooout~”
The wolf stalks his prey,
This will be a piece of cake!
Santa mounts his sleigh.

“Through the Window”
Swill sweet aroma,
Christmas treats in the window,
The orphan yearns for.
“You better watch ooout~” Santa should know this better than anyone! I hope he is on the alert and escapes the hungry wolf. 😉

I hope both of those things too, phoenixgrey! If Santa brings presents this Christmas, we’ll know he’s okay. 🙂 Maybe he’ll give something to the orphan too.

I never can write “real” haiku — the ones you read as the first two sentences together and the 2nd and 3rd together making sense. Nice job. 🙂

Thanks, Sarah! Haikus aren’t as easy as they look–especially with that syllables rule, haha. My sentences tend to blend together, but hopeful the haiku sentence rule still works with them. 🙂

OMG, that first one. *lol* Santa better watch out, indeed! And awwwwww, the second one. It reminded me a little of A Christmas Carol or The Tale of Gloucester. It was also open-ended for the senses, so I imagined some of the smells I associate with the holidays: cinnamon, apples, pumpkin, cloves…

A Christmas Carol is my favorite movie of the season. Have you seen the Muppet’s Christmas Carol movie?
Mm, cinnamon, sugar, spice, and everything nice…the aromas tell you it’s Christmas time. 🙂

*lol* I’m pretty sure the “Run” line comes from the movie Forrest Gump (“Run, Forrest, run!”). Have you seen it?
Oh yes! I LOVED the Muppets when I was little, so I saw their Christmas Carol movie, too.
