More Trip and the St. Louis Art Museum

It’s time for photos and more Springfield Trip fun! I think you will like the Art Museum. The first post was My Springfield Trip, and this is part 2 via another blog award.

I was nominated for the Creative Blogger Award by author Rachael Ritchey (yes, I’m finally getting around to it! 😀 ) and sweet book blogger Trisha Ann. Thank you! More fun and the St. Louis Art Museum:

1. Hung out in downtown Springfield with my amazingly cool cousin and aunt. The shops were full of cute, handcrafted things from local artisans. And there was a huge bookstore that made me feel like I was walking through a maze with all of its twisting paths and tucked away rooms. I could’ve spent several days browsing through there!

2. Me and my cousin became “The Womandolins” mandolin band. XD It took a while to figure out how to tune her old mandolin. And because she couldn’t remember previous mandolin lessons, and I’d never had any at all, our attempts at making music were…interesting, to say the least—and crazy fun! 😉 Those strings can really hurt your fingers, btw! And because my hands are smaller, it was a real struggle hitting certain notes, lol! But we rocked it, and have eight songs so far for our album titled The Unknown (because each song is unknown as we forget how they went the first time, lol. We don’t write down our music, we are rebels).

3. Hung out in my cousin’s art studio, as she is also a budding artist and writer. The three of us terrible trio were there, and some crazy, fantastic caricatures were drawn of our faces in glorious colors! 😀

4. My aunt, who I think is an amazing cook and baker, attempted a gluten-free cinnamon bun, since I mentioned I haven’t been able to find a decent one yet. It wasn’t quite a bun, but it was the most delicious treat ever, like a cinnamon bun made into a little cake and topped with pecans and icing. Ohmygoodness, I could not get enough of them!

5. Went to the St. Louis Art Museum with my cousin, aunt and mom. Beforehand we had a picnic on the wide, open grounds of Forest Park nearby the museum.

Me and my cousin had a blast racing through the halls and many floors of this huge building—seeing every bit of it we possibly could before time ran out. And then it happened. Have any of you writers ever come across a person who looks exactly like one of your characters? Well, that’s what happened; one of the security guards had a face just like one of my cousin’s characters! I nonchalantly chased after the guy down the hall, trying to sneak a snap shot of him without him noticing—it wasn’t easy. He turned around, and we quick pretended to look at a Japanese vase. XD #we’renotcrazy,we’rejustwriters 😛 Here are some Museum photo highlights:

The museum is vast and full of various art exhibits, ranging from the ancient to the modern, and could easily take more than a day to browse through. There are even lectures you can attend! I highly recommend going there, if ever you’re in the St. Louis area.
