Updates: June-July #authorlife #readerlife

Writing and blogging news for June-July so far.

Yes, I switched up the site title and tagline. Shocking, I know. 😉 Okay, now on to more serious blog topics 🙂 :fireworks21[1]

The blog’s 1st Year Anniversary is coming up! July 16!!! 😀 And to spruce the place up, I have done a lot of cleaning out and reorganizing. You’ll hear more later in this post. I’m thinking of ways to celebrate the occasion. Maybe a first ever character interview from my novel? And/or a Beautiful People post?

Steampunk Fantasy series for the #BlogBattle: The blog series Madnes Solver is on its 10th chapter now. If you haven’t read it yet, you can easily catch up! The stakes are rising higher for Madnes and his newfound power…

Current WIP Progress: I am on Draft 3, and have finished the Prologue and almost all of Chapter 1. I wish it would move more quickly, but to do so wouldn’t be wise on my part. This stage of editing I’m being careful and taking my time with it. If you want, you can find a short snippet from my novel here and here. I’ll go into more detail about my WIP and changes I’m making in the newsletter I will send out soon. If you haven’t yet, you can follow the Newsletter here.

New on the Blog:

  • Projects page: Under “Books” is now a page dedicated to all of my WIPs. So if ever you find yourself wondering, “Hm, what’s that Rawls author writing these days?” you can hop over to that page and read about it! 🙂
  • For Writers page: I mentioned “cleaning and reorganizing” earlier, right? Well, this was one of them! A page dedicated to all of the articles having to do with writing–those I have written, and those I have found extremely helpful in becoming an author (I still find them helpful today!). Topics you will find there: Articles Helping You Write, Self Publishing, Getting Your Book Ready, and How to Market Your Book!
  • On a side note: I have some nominations and awards to get to, and they are fun! I hope you’ll enjoy my answers to some of the ridiculously tough questions. And be on the lookout because I might nominate you next! ;D

Currently Reading: Going Postal. And I’m really enjoying it so far! It’s witty, funny, and I can’t help liking the main character even though he’s such a brat, lol. There is some language use, but within the PG-13 range. I’ll write a review once I’ve finished reading. 🙂

Movies: I plan to write some reviews for movies I’ve seen this year so far (and yeah, some have been out since last year and it took me a while to get to them 🙂 ). The new Jurassic World is among them!

Life Stuff during June: Please follow the mailing list to read about it. 🙂

What to Expect/Things to Come:

  • Book Review of Storm Siren
  • Blog post about my grandpa’s old artwork, books, and tools!
  • Reviews of books & movies, and soon-to-come List pages that will divide books/movies up into easy and fun categories, styles, and content—making it easy for you to find your next read/watch. Example: If you want to read/watch something to do with “dragons,” you’ll be able to look on the list and find books/movies that contain “dragons.”
  • New category to come: Silly Rambles. About the funny and the woe of being a reader and an author!
  • Fishing for Answers will also continue.

If you would like to read more about me, WIPs and things not on the blog, follow my monthly mailing list.

Don’t forget to drop by for the July 16 Celebration! See you there! 😀

  1. Wow! You’ve been busy, and it looks like you’re planning to be even busier. But that’s not such a bad thing. Looking forward to reading your review of Storm Siren, btw!

And yay for blogoversaries! I totally agree with a character interview or a Beautiful People post with the V Chronicles. 🙂

  2. This al sounds very organised. 🙂 I hope it’s going well.

And because I forgot to say so on the comment on the anniversary post, Happy Blogoversary! 😀
