Haiku: Potatoes for Soup

This week I have 2 haiku’s for RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Challenge, a fun activity and contest that is open for everyone to participate, and helps keep our creative writer’s mind active! This week’s words are: Want & Tatters. I hope you enjoy both. One is for humor, the other more serious.

Potatoes for Soup

“What’s tatters, precious?”

Taters, you uncouth Gollum!”

“Stupid Hobbitses.”

 ~

“The Sea’s Hunger”

The sea sighs its want

The waves never satisfied,

Ships in tatters sink.

I hope you enjoyed the Lord of the Rings humor there. Every time I looked at the word “tatters” I kept thinking “taters” lol. Thank you for reading!

How to read a haiku:

The sea sighs its want, The waves never satisfied.

The waves never satisfied, Ships in tatters sink.
